When an over-achieving American teenager is forced to spend a year in the blistering mining town of Mount Isa due to her father's new job, she plans her escape to New York, until she falls for the son of her father’s sworn enemy, a tough young miner secretly gifted with musical genius. But as the town’s chaotic Christmas Lights competition spirals out of control in a desperate attempt to create a “White Christmas” (in 40-degree heat), the young couple must pursue each other in secret to discover true love.
